About Us
Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority was established in 1992. It replaced the Guwahati Development Authority which was running since 1962. GMDA's jurisdiction extends over an area of 262 sq. km. The main functions of GMDA are make master plans and regulations, prepare and execute developmental schemes, regulate and control development and co-ordinate development activities of other public organizations in the district of Guwahati.
